Security Officer

Job Summary

Paveway Africa Limited on behalf of our client is looking for a Security Officer who will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, assets, employees, and visitors. This role involves monitoring and patrolling the premises, responding to incidents, and enforcing security policies. The Security Officer is a critical member of the team, contributing to a secure and safe environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To conduct regular patrols of the premises, both interior and exterior.
• Ensure all security systems, such as alarms and cameras, are functioning properly.
• To verify identification and credentials of employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, including emergencies such as fire, medical emergencies, and security breaches.
• To prepare detailed incident reports and maintain records of occurrences.
• To address violations of rules and regulations, issuing warnings or reporting to higher authorities as necessary.
• To coordinate with other security personnel and departments to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• To provide assistance and guidance to employees, visitors, and customers.
• To handle security-related inquiries and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in security management or law enforcement is a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
• Strong observational and surveillance skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations effectively.
• Basic computer skills for monitoring surveillance systems and preparing reports.
• Good physical condition, able to stand for long periods, and perform patrols.
