Job Summary

Paveway Africa on behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join their team as an Insurance Risk and Compliance Officer/Manager. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing an effective risk and compliance program tailored to the unique regulatory landscape of the insurance industry. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance regulations, and risk management practices, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure the company’s adherence to industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To identify, assess, and prioritize risks specific to the insurance business, including underwriting, claims, and regulatory compliance.
• To develop and implement risk management strategies and policies.
• To monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct compliance audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance.
• To work closely with different departments to integrate risk and compliance considerations into business processes.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management detailing the organization’s risk profile and compliance status within the insurance context.
• Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, compliance activities, and corrective actions taken, with a focus on insurance-related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, insurance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.
• Familiarity with underwriting and claims processes in the insurance sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and influence change across different functional areas.
