Procurement and Logistics Officer

Job Summary

Paveway Africa Limited on behalf of our client is seeking for a talented Procurement and Logistics Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process and ensuring efficient logistics operations within the organization. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating the movement of goods. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a thorough understanding of procurement and logistics procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate and establish contracts with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
• Conduct regular supplier performance assessments and address any issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with various departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
• To Coordinate with shipping companies, customs agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth movement of products.
• To manage and optimize inventory levels to minimize holding costs while ensuring product availability.
• Implement efficient warehousing practices, including storage, labeling, and inventory control.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies in all procurement and logistics activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement transactions, contracts, and logistics operations.
• Prepare reports on procurement and logistics performance for management review.
• To monitor and control expenses related to procurement and logistics operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2+ years of Experience in a similar position.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with inventory management software and other relevant tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
