Logistic Supervisor

Job Summary

Paveway Africa Limited on behalf of our client is seeking for a Logistic Supervisor to join their team. Who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the logistics department. This includes managing the logistics team, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and improving the overall efficiency of the supply chain processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To supervise, train, and mentor the logistics team.
2. To plan and coordinate the logistics operations including inbound and outbound shipments, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
3. To ensure compliance with all logistics and supply chain processes.
4. To maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory levels are optimized.
5. Coordinate with suppliers, transport companies, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
6. To resolve any issues related to transportation, delivery delays, and damaged goods.
7. To identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing costs in logistics operations.
8. To ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
9. Promote and enforce health and safety standards within the logistics team.
10. To prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, inventory levels, and costs to the Logistics Manager.
11. Analyze data to make informed decisions and provide recommendations.
12. To negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, suppliers, and other logistics service providers.
13. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of logistics regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
