Fleet Team Lead

Job Summary

Paveway Africa on behalf of a client is looking for a Fleet Team Lead, who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring efficient and safe transportation of goods and personnel. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and collaboration with various departments to optimize fleet performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES;

• To lead and supervise a team of drivers, mechanics, and support staff.
• To provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team.
• To develop and implement efficient fleet management strategies to meet company objectives.
• To coordinate daily logistics, scheduling, and routing of vehicles to optimize fuel efficiency and delivery timelines.
• To oversee maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections to ensure fleet safety and compliance with regulations.
• To monitor and analyze fleet utilization, recommending adjustments to maximize efficiency.
• Work closely with regulatory agencies to maintain necessary permits and licenses.
• To develop and manage the fleet budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing expenses.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers for vehicle purchases, maintenance, and fuel.
• To evaluate and implement fleet management technologies to enhance tracking, reporting, and communication.
• To implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• To collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and human resources, to streamline processes and achieve organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS;

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in fleet management, with a track record of successful team leadership.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with fleet management software and technologies.
